shop till we drop!
We are officially done shopping for the trip and wanted to give everyone a haul of the things we have gotten since being in Copenhagen!
So far, we have started every morning with a cardamom bun or croissant and coffee before heading out! Conner found his favorite store ever in Copenhagen. It is called Grocery and it has all things tech wear and gorp-core esque. The sneakers he is wearing we found at a different store called Lagune, but they did not accept Amex so we had to leave them behind, but they randomly had them at Grocery and for half off!!! Wohoooo! There was a big sale, so Conner was able to grab the blue and brown long-sleeve and these sick plum-colored pants. If that store couldn’t have made Conner any happier, they sold chalk bags (for rock climbing) that are handmade in Copenhagen with deadstock fabrics and scraps of climbing ropes (this really won over my sustainable fashion-loving heart). To make it even better, it is a one-of-one piece that wasn’t even on the showroom floor yet.
Our trip to Grocery was a few days ago, but today Conner had his sights set on a particular outfit he found on Pinterest he wanted to try and recreate. Never did I think we would be back to buying Khakis, but the fit of these bad boys quickly changed my mind!
We started out at this store called Studio 1455. They had tons of streetwear and vintage designers. Conner picked out this navy blue Prada jacket you see in the photo above. I swear this jacket was made to fit him. The ties, pants, and button-up were all found at a thrift store for under 15 bucks! Conner was really excited when we walked into this store called Naked and he spotted these Adidas sambas with the flap overtop. He has been looking for these shoes since we’ve been here and was shocked to just stumble upon them.
post designer purchase scares!!
We also stumbled upon the Balenciaga bag mothership!! Anyone who knows me knows I’ve been hunting down these bags at second-hand stores like its a full-time job for the past 3 years. Specifically the city bag in plum purple. Standing in the store my jaw dropped when I saw a worker carry the exact bag I have been looking for over to another woman. Who foolishly set it down long enough for me to get my hands on it!! Just kidding, she left without buying anything and then I asked the worker if I could try it on. I tried on a bunch of different versions of the city bag at different price points and colorways, but I have always had my sights set on the plum color. It was beyond perfect, the fit, the color, the condition, and it was somehow in my budget. I could not have asked for better. Against all the shame and guilt, Conner convinced me that this purse is a once-in-a-lifetime find and I can’t pass it up. So here I am one plum Balenciaga city bag later!!! I still might puke! ( of happiness or stress we may never know!! ;) )
Today, Conner did most of the shopping but I did find these super cute silver Adidas Mary Janes at Naked that was a collaboration with a Japanese designer. I tried them on and they were an immediate yes. Super comfortable and adorable- I know I will wear them into the ground. Also, I found a super cheap red zip-up at a consignment store and a real fur coat that fit me like a glove at a great price point as well! I am feeling so spoiled and excited about my new items! The shopping here is so wonderful, we are a happy bunch over here:) talk soon, love you all xoxo
