ups and downs and doozies⋆。‧˚ʚ🍓ɞ˚‧。⋆

Hi all! Today is our last day in Tokyo :( We are so sad to leave, but we are beyond excited to head to our next destination.

We woke up pretty early today and headed to the Konbini for breakfast and walked around the shops surrounding Shibuya crossing to kill time before the other stores opened. Mer had her sights set on a bag and a pair of shoes.

Once 11 o’clock hit, we made our way to Takashita Street and the iconic shopping in Harajuku. Unfortunately, our first stop did not carry the line that Mer was looking for so we headed to one of her favorite designer’s new stores in Tokyo in search of the flats pictured in the photo, but in blue/black, or a pair of boots she has wanted for a long time. Sadly, the store did not have the flats, boots, or the top she had her eyes set on from this store. We pushed on. The last thing on her list that she had wanted was a very specific purse. We checked all the luxury second-hand stores she had saved on Google, but sadly could not find the bag anywhere. We decided this was a good time to take a break from shopping and luckily we stumbled across a shrine right in the heart of Harajuku!

After taking in the shrine, and reading the signs explaining its significance, we decided to go to lunch at a spot of Conner’s picking. This restaurant seats 17 people, and you get a spread of foods including the high-quality Japanese beef that you cook on a hot stove in front of you. It came with cabbage, the best miso soup we have ever had, rice, Japanese potato salad, and sauces.

After our bellies were full from lunch, we left the restaurant and stumbled on yet another shrine that was dedicated to a deity who was seen as the God of Victory. The temple was so beautiful and surrounded by huge ponds that were swarmed with the biggest Koi fish we have ever seen. We wanted to be respectful of those who were there to pray, so we did not take any photos, but it was a truly unforgettable experience.

Our last shopping stop of the day was MEGA Don Quijote which is a 7 story super store, think target on crack with all Japanese beauty products, sweets, candy, trinkets, figurines, etc. all tax free. If it exists you can probably find it at Don Quijote, unless you are looking for specifically anime related figurines (randomly).

To end our night we went and got a bunch of sushi and ate until our bellies hurt. Not as much to report on today as it was a lot of just walking and wandering around. We are feeling so overwhelmed with gratitude and excitement for the days yet to come. Talk tomorrow!
